Solvent tips: Many operators use a mixture of methanol and formamide. Formamide is very hydroscopic and attacts water quickly. Always try to mix a fresh batch of solvent at the time of titration. Methanol by itself is also quite hydroscopic and can cause an unwanted side reaction if it is mixed with the formamide too soon - creating ammonia.
