Experience

We have worked with many power companies and helped with moisture testing and monitoring using Karl Fischer Titration for transformers (transformer oil) as well as tests performed on solid construction material found within transformers.  In some cases direct injection is all that is needed while in other cases the use of a solids evaporator is required.  Most recently we have found that different oils and greases pose different challenges and depending on time to test and other factors there are a variety of configurations that are better suited for some tests than others.

  • Karl Fischer Over Titration and 7 things you should know about it   We have all seen it.  We’re running a test to see how much moisture is in our sample when inexplicably the liquid inside the Karl Fischer vessel starts to turn from a normal light-yellow color to a dark burnt-red looking color.  Sometimes the titrator screen will inform us of the problem with a digital readout stating the dreaded "over-titration."
