  • WATER STANDARD 0.1/CC34847;A water standard for Coulometric Karl Fischer titrators (100PPM). A certified standard containing 0.1mg of H2O per g (1g = 1.16ml). This standard contains xylene. The specific gravity of this water standard is approx. 0.86. A manufacturer's test certificate with exact specifications is included. Test objective is 100PPM +- 10%
  • WATER STANDARD 10.0/CC34849;A water standard for Coulometric and Volumetric Karl Fischer titrators (10,000PPM). A certified standard containing 10.0mg of H2O per g (1g = 1.16ml). A manufacturer's test certificate with exact specifications is included. A 1% (10,000PPM) standard.
  • WATER STANDARD OIL/CC34694;A water standard for Coulometric Karl Fischer titrators. "Water standard oil" is a low-level water standard. Prepared by LOT, the water content will vary by LOT never to exceed 35ppm. Each LOT will come with a certificate with test results. Current LOTs are being measured at 6.0ppm.
[fa icon="plus"] I have ketones and or aldehydes in my samples. What reagents should i use?
You will want to be using a dual reagent setup for this tesing and use Coulomat AK (anolyte) and the CG-K (catholyte).
[fa icon="plus"] What packaging sizes are available?
The anolytes come in 500mL and 1 liter bottles.  You can also get cases of these combinations.  Catholytes come in 50mL bottles and ampules (10 per pack).  Water standards come in ampules (10 per pack).
[fa icon="plus"] How long wil my reagents last?

This is a popular question!  It depends.  Three things generally factor into the useful life of these reagents including:

  • The reagent itself has a finite amount of water that it can measure (see note).
  • Time the reagent has been open, exposed and in use. Over long periods of time the reagents will become weaker.
  • Capacity of the titration vessel.  Once it's full with sample you will need to drain and start over.

note:  For our example assume a typical titration vessel can hold 100mL of anolyte reagent.  The following then would apply:

  • Coulomat A, AG, AG-H can measure 1,000,000 micrograms of water.
  • Coulomat AK can measure 100,000 micrograms of water.
  • Coulomat oil can measure 300,000 micrograms of water.

If you are using a dual reagent setup the following then would apply:

  • A 5mL ampule of Coulomat CG catholyte solution will measure 300,000 micrograms of water.
  • A 5mL ampule of Coulomat CG-K catholyte solution will measure 100,000 micrgrams of water.

Remember your Karl Fischer Titrator measures moisture in micro grams so you can use this math to help figure it out:

PPM = WATER DETECTED (in micro grams)/SAMPLE SIZE (in grams)
